When we think of grief we think of losing someone close to us. But we can grieve for many different reasons, the loss of a friendship, a job, a possession. We can grieve for the live we once lived, or the loss of something important to us. If we allow it, the grief can consume us. We can carry it with us, everywhere we go.
It may even become a comfort in times of great loss, a way to hold on to what you have lost. But it also weighs on us, as we carry it around like a boulder in the heart and stomach, never letting it go. Even with the joyous of moments, you can feel it there inside you, dampening the moment. But it needn’t be this way. You can let go of the past, whilst keeping the memories, or let go of it all together. By letting go you can bring the joy, happiness and freedom back into your life.
